feeling a little 80s can’t you tell? ;)
you’re killing me here, glitteryheathen.
The 80’s-ness…the open shirt…the vulnerability…
I really like this photo.

I really like this photo.
This reminds me of that one gif where they are dancing and Jennifer Connely looks down and licks her lips lasciviously.
Holy shit his hair isn’t levitating!
“If she ever kisses you, I’ll turn you into a prince.~”
“Y-you will?”
”PRINCE OF THE LAND OF STENCH!”you guys really have no idea how much I love this movie.
NO IDEA
NONE AT ALLawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww ye
as a Labyrinth fangirl, I think I have some inkling
I love this. I also love that it’s very recognisably Jareth without being a carbon copy of Bowie.
I love egg hair Bowie so damn much. I love his hair, I love his music, I love his ridiculous outfits which are pretty much how I would dress full time were I a man or identified as a man—I think from now on whenever I want to say “Jesus Christ,” or “oh my god,” I will say Egg Hair Bowie! Or something along those lines.
Marry me? And/or send me any clothes of this sort you find XD
Favorite character in fiction. Probably ever.
This little fellow is so cute I can’t even
You remind me of the babe
What babe?
the babe with the power
What power?
The power of voodoo!
I see a lot of people in the fandom trying to make Jareth into this evil, diabolical figure, and frequently using this line as support for that characterisation. I can see this, I guess, but it seems like they’re not taking the second part into consideration. Yeah, he wants her to fear him, love him, and do as he says but he’s offering the exact same thing in return. I have a really hard time seeing Jareth as evil, especially given what Bowie himself has said about the character - that he’s contrary, moody and imperious and can be a terrible drama queen, at worst. That’s a pain in the arse, not an evil bastard.
Whatever he is, he’s really isolated, so he does not have much experience with people or, thus, any skills in interacting with them. He’s king, which means he’s used to getting his way. He is probably immortal - and even if he isn’t, he’s still really isolated - so he probably has no idea how human aging works, and Sarah looks more or less adult.
Oh and there’s the fact that they deliberately egg each other on.
So um…apparently my response to frustration at work is ranting about the Goblin King’s characterisation. I don’t even know, guys. I think I may have mental problems.
Wild is the Wind, by David Bowie, 1981.
1981 video for “Wild is the Wind” that Bowie first recorded for Station to Station in 1976. Some of the most amazing notes ever sung.
^ This was my very first post
:D
I absolutely adore this.
Oh, this is beautiful.
